CLAIRE LAKE

A young Joan Cusack, in a Jane Austen flick, trying to get you into bed.

Actress Claire Lake lives in Los Angeles, making digital comedy, and has completed the advanced improv and sketch programs at Second City and The Groundlings. In the short time since moving to LA,  she has performed stand-up in Cake Batter's Funny Women Fest, and written/produced/acted in her dark comedy play, "Don't Spill Your Drink" at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and written/performed with the sketch show “Spice Rack” at Second City. She’s honed her home renovation skills in her new fixer house in East LA (complete with pro Voiceover Studio!) She's working on writing and shooting a comedy series, and a children’s book in between teaching her dog yoga and saving Italian pasta screensavers.

As a four-year-old, Claire carried around a wooden stool to perform impromptu tap shows, that ended with one-liners and knock-knock jokes.  “What’s got 4 legs but can’t hold your martini? Me, if I’m dancin at full speed.” Thanks to her parents,  she began in theatre and performed in over 30 shows by the age of 16. Then she wrote sketch comedy and cabaret shows, inadvertently scandalizing the neighborhood parents. After graduating from New York's American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), she had a quick stint in Alaska, and visited her Texas home as much as possible. Her favorite Texas credits include the lead of Sheila in the rock musical, “Hair”, and Sawda, in the acclaimed war drama “Scorched.
